Queer Geekery's home is in Toronto, Canada, which—because of the pandemic—won't be able to celebrate Pride with parades, street festivals, and dancing for the second summer in a row. The temperature and vaccination rates are rising, COVID-19 diagnoses are falling, but Provincial restrictions won't be lifted in time for us to have a Pride brunch on a patio on June 1st. Alas.
So we're grateful that Egale—like other creative 2SLGBTQI organizations in and around Toronto—are figuring out ways for us to celebrate #PrideInside this year!
Queer Geekery has been included in Egale's Pride Inside Marketplace, and has featured our lovely Pink Progress Pride Heart design. (For each one of these sold, we donate $2 to Egale year-round!) But we're not the only ones offering queer, geeky apparel in the great selection of merchants they've collected this year!
The Marketplace is a great way to support your local queer-owned (or queer-affirming!) small businesses (like us) while ALSO supporting Egale's diverse advocacy projects. The best part is, you can do both by doing things that you'd normally do during Pride month anyway. In our case, that's at least: eating sushi, trying new ciders, and expanding our gay wardrobes.
Check it out!
